Finally thrive through military life's chaos 💡
Resilient Military Family Academy
even when you’re not sure what to do next
One moment you’re promising, “I’ll stay calm during this deployment,”
Overwhelmed and —you’ve tried it all
telling yourself, “I’ll get the support I need”
Reading military family blogs for advice, (but finding it too generic)
Trying deep breaths (yet still feeling anxious during stressful moments)
Joining support groups (but leaving with more questions than answers)
Making promises to handle relocations better, (only to feel lost again)
Next thing you know…
Your child’s melting down over another goodbye—screaming, withdrawing, or lashing out.
Your heart races, frustration builds, and that familiar guilt hits:
“Why can’t I keep us strong when military life hits hardest? Am I failing my family?”
Every day feels like a battlefield:
Morning routines explode into chaos over a move
Deployments trigger endless worries and tears
Relocations leave kids isolated or angry
Public moments drain you with their stress
Family reunions turn rocky with reintegration struggles

If you’re lying awake wondering how
to make tomorrow different, know this:
Your family isn’t broken. Your parenting isn’t failing.
There's research in development and military psychology that helps us understand the reason why nothing’s working—and a proven path forward.

Imagine Turning Military Life’s Toughest Moments
Into Your Family’s Greatest Strength
Replace deployment anxiety with calm connection
Turn relocation struggles into opportunities for growth
Navigate reintegration with confidence, not confusion
Create routines that weather any move or goodbye
Help your kids build resilience for life’s challenges
Finally break free from feeling overwhelmed by military chaos

Hi, I’m Dr. Monica!
Hi, I'm Dr. Monica, but please, just call me Monica. I'm a military spouse and a parent of three, just like you. I've been through the same challenges you're facing—deployments, relocations, the emotional rollercoaster of military life.
But I'm also an Educational Psychologist, a Registered Play Therapist, and a Licensed Professional Counselor. For over 15 years, I've dedicated my career to understanding why people do what they do, and helping them face intense stress—deployments, uncertainty, hard moves, trauma—and, more importantly, how parents can respond with confidence to build lasting strength.
I created the Resilient Military Family Academy (a military family resilience program—where everyone benefits) because I saw a need for a program that combines scientific research with practical, real-world strategies.
Like many military families I’ve worked with, you’re not just seeking quick fixes—you’re ready to build your family’s resilience while creating harmony amidst the chaos.
I’m the founder of Reintjes Counseling and Consulting specializing in serving Active Duty Military, their spouses, families and federal employees.

How this made a difference
-
I loved that it wasn't too long.A lot of online courses will talk a lot of "fluff". But this was straight and to the point.
Love all of the statistics, and actionable points!
Plus, the specific tools for routines, and age appropriate language.
-
Love the practical, actionable examples.
I think people will appreciate the list-form teaching approach.
It's also organized and seems like it would appeal to most parents regardless of the ages of their children.
-
The way that you broke down the research and science was super helpful.
Even something as simple as making sure that everyone is getting sleep was an often overlooked but super important aspect to deployment, and I think the impact of poor sleep is underestimated.
I also loved the scripts and the reminder to let your kids see you feel - specifically, you called out an example of what were to happen if your kid walked in after you were on the phone with spouse and crying - the permission to feel and invitation to let your kid see you in a vulnerable state was a great reminder.
